Example of the vernacular architecture of the island, built by the hands of the people, using the available materials and techniques typical of the time. The farm has its genesis in Mediterranean architecture, and uses as main materials basaltic stone and wood in the structure of the roof, coatings and spans.
The double Portuguese roof that grows as the house grew, is in scissors and we can still see how it sat and stabilized on the walls.
Its outer coating is lime in its color in the traditional dark pink which on rainy days creates a skate very own of this type of coating.
The vãos and tapassols in their usual green. The windows are stone-washed.
Big chimneys served bread oven and fireplace.
Adossado to one of the façade we have a porch overlooking the garden, where we can find many interesting elements such as rolled pebble paths, bougainvillea covered pergola, living space with stone benches next to the gate, among others.
The gate, of simple design without many lime-coated ornaments like the house, connects the property to the path of the Jumps.
Over time the house was maintained with affection and was the target of small adaptations without misusing its arabicc, and that is why even today this typical Madeiran house manages to refer us to the imaginary of the Portuguese houses of the architect Raúl Lino.
Its rural imagery and the signs of stability and rooting emanating from this property continue to create a fascination in the minds of people looking for this type of real estate.
