Água de Pau is a village that integrates the municipality of Lagoa, on the south coast of the island of São Miguel, in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, in Portugal. It is situated about 17 km from Ponta Delgada and 7 km from the municipality's headquarters. The parish was elevated to the village by Regional Legislative Decree No. 29/2003/A.[1]
It has an area of 17.43 km² and about 3000 inhabitants, with a population density of 175.4 inhabitants/km².
A large part of its population is dedicated to agriculture and agriculture, and the number of those who have their occupation in civil construction, services and commerce is also recorded. The handicraft has strong implementation in the locality, being to highlight the works in wicker and weaving.
In the context of the settlement of the Azores archipelago is a very old parish, constituted on July 28, 1500.
The fixation of the first inhabitants in its area will have occurred due to the presence of drinking water springs, because it is crossed by a stream that served as a source of energy-motive and, finally, due to the fact that its lands are fertile and sheltered.

It is wine production land with particular predominance for smelling wine.
