The Dão Demarcated Region was established on an unknown date of 1908, located in central Portugal, in the province of Beira Alta. It was the first demarcated region of non-liqueur wines in the country and the second demarcated wine region of the country. The Dão region is known as Portuguese Burgundy and stands out for the quality of its wines. The wines of the Dão Demarcated Region are gastronomic wines, with exceptional acidity of complex and delicate aromas. Its character, complexity, elegance, balance, maturity, aging potential and perfect combination with local gastronomy.
The quality of Dão wines has been awarded in international wine competitions. In 2014 they won nine silver medals and nine bronze medals in the 45th edition of the international Wine and Spirit Competition.
