Moinho dos Ilhéus is situated on a 20+6 hectare property in the Ria Formosa, Livramento, halfway between Tavira and Olhão, in the Algarve, in the south of Portugal.
The Ria Formosa Protected Area is the geological continuation of the largest Natural Reserve of the Doñana Natural Park in Spain, the largest and possibly most relevant protected swamp area on the planet
A private property in one of the most privileged areas of the Ria Formosa, a protected area designated in one of the richest ecosystems in Portugal.
It is like a mini protected area, fully preserved, without contamination, with all the surrounding water circuits activated exclusively by the natural force of gravity, without artificial pumping of water.

From this phase of intensive fish farming, we still maintain on the property all the infrastructures built by
