Its population density is 135.2 inhabitants/km². The patron saint of the parish is Nossa Senhora da Ajuda, which is celebrated on the last Sunday of August each year with a procession and popular festival. It is located at latitude 37.7667 (37°46') North and longitude 25.75 (25°45') West, at an altitude of meters. It was created on September 15, 1980, in a territory that was previously part of the parish of Relva. There is also a chapel in the parish of worship of Our Lady of Grace, a museum and a basic school of the 1st cycle; works carried out between the years 1998 and 2001. Also noteworthy is the concert hall belonging to the League of Friends of Covoada.
